Lisa is a Licensed Professional Counselor who views clients holistically using a mind, body, and soul therapeutic approach. Lisa assists those feeling anxious, “stuck”, or “lost” in the world. Among other mindfulness practices, Lisa incorporates EFT (tapping) and Yoga Therapy techniques to address difficult emotions and struggles with current life circumstances. Lisa believes that when we can identify the negative underlying beliefs that we hold, we are capable of real change. Within a therapy environment that is warm, accepting, and open, individuals may develop a better understanding of self, creating a space for growth within their relationships and outside world. Lisa feels her role as a therapist is not to fix clients but to remind them of what is already right within.
Lisa also has an affinity for working with those seeking to look at life’s challenges through a spiritual lens. She helps others unfold their spiritual path in order to delve deeper into life’s big questions and bring more conscious awareness into their relationships. Lisa can assist you on your path to growth from this perspective, based on your specific needs, interests, and faith tradition.
Lisa holds a MA in Clinical Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and has specialized training in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or tapping) and Yoga Therapy. EFT is a form of energy psychology to help release stored emotional blocks. Through this technique individuals are able to release negative emotions and stress in order to find a sense of healing and peace. In addition to her 200 hour Yoga Certification, Lisa has also completed a Yoga Training focusing on therapeutic yoga techniques which allows her to use a body centered approach with clients who do not respond to traditional talk therapy.
