Hailey Heil, Intern
Hailey will assist you in learning new skills to enhance your self-awareness, confidence and joy. She is deeply committed to helping her clients achieve greater life satisfaction and improving their relationships with others. Her counseling concentrations include relationships, couples and sexuality. To increase her knowledge in this field, Hailey completed Level 1 Training of Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
After a couple years working in the business world, Hailey realized her passion for helping others overcome personal and professional obstacles. A one-on-one therapeutic relationship is appealing to Hailey, as it is direct, purposeful, and proven to be successful in creating change. Hailey has already completed three years of counseling coursework at Roosevelt University in just two years. This allows her to focus entirely on her clients during the final year of her Master’s program.
A personal interest in yoga and wellness led Hailey to the practice of mindfulness and meditation. During her studies, she realized she could incorporate these practices into counseling with mindfulness-based psychotherapy. One of these models is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which focuses on self-awareness and being more flexible with one’s thoughts. ACT asks the individual to stop avoiding their issues and start accepting them. It also aids in differentiating between thoughts, feelings, and reality, to better understand ourselves and our experiences.
Hailey’s other passion is travel. After living and studying for a summer in France, Hailey realized her desire for exploring other locations and lifestyles. Since this time, Hailey has traveled to 15 countries and has plans to visit many more!
If you are interested in working with Hailey, she is available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30pm-8:30pm. Hailey’s internship will end on May 1, 2020, with the option for client’s to continue services via online counseling.
